President & Founder - Parul Gupta
I am a junior at MSU double majoring in Human Biology and Psychology. I aspire to become a doctor one day. I love volunteering and have done so in many different places including hospitals, nursing homes and other events around the community! The idea to found this club actually came from my grandma, who was telling me how bad the conditions have gotten in some regions of India (where she lives) and how it seems like no one is doing much about it due to a lack of resources. When I heard that, I really wanted to help make a difference and I know that we may not be able to have a huge impact our first year, but I'm definitely going to do all that I can until I know we've helped as many people as we could.
I am a junior at MSU majoring in Human Biology with a minor in Bioethics, Humanities, and Society. I'm a student coordinator at Sparrow Hospital where I help train and act as a mentor to the volunteers. I also am on the e-board of other MSU organizations such as Pre-Physician Association and Spartans Supporting Refugees. I joined Health Without Borders because I believe that everyone should have access to clean water - it's a necessity that everyone needs to live. No one, no matter their status or living conditions, should be without clean water.
Vice President - Azza Kineish
My name is Azza and I'm junior here at MSU majoring in human biology. I aspire to go to medical school and become a physician. I joined health without borders because I wanted to truly help others in ways that will make a difference. I feel like as humans we all have a role in society to help those in need whenever the opportunity arises and I find a this great opportunity in health without borders. There is no reason as to why people should not have access to such basic human necessities and if there is any way we can help we should.
Treasurer - Kayla Ulman
I am a senior at MSU majoring in accounting. I will be interning at Ernst & Young this summer and hope to work for an accounting firm upon graduation. I joined Health Without Borders because I thought it would be an amazing opportunity to help people in need. Health Without Borders has given me the ability to take part in efforts to provide people of India safe drinking water, a necessity that no one should have to go without!
Marketing - Kim Cox
I am a junior at MSU majoring in Kinesiology and minoring in Heath Promotion and Spanish. I plan on becoming a Physician Assistant and working abroad in mobile clinics. I strongly believe Health Without Borders has the incredible opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. Whether educating students at MSU about diseases that aren't as prevalent in the US or physically providing schools and orphanages with clean water, I believe this club can come one step closer to making sure everyone has access to clean water.
Special Events Coordinator - Ishi Nalamolu
I am a Senior at MSU majoring in Neuroscience through Lyman Briggs. I plan on attending medical school after graduation. I joined Health Without Borders because I enjoy engaging in service to help my community and the world. I also enjoy dedicating my time to public health issues. Health Without Borders integrates these two passions of mine. It is important to remember how blessed and privileged we all are to have accessibility to some of the most basic human needs. With that privilege, we should make it a priority of ours to help those suffering from the lack of these necessities. With our efforts, Health Without Borders has the opportunity to provide resources and promote awareness for clean water initiatives in India.
